Someone once told me...

"Fear doesn't save lives, it keeps people from living" - Yoni.

In 2012 spent a few months in Tel Aviv, Israel. I was interning at a CrossFit Gym that just had opened up by one American and one Israeli named Yoni... Business was booming.

Unfortunately, this happened to be the year that the bomb sirens went off for the first time in 20 years in Tel Aviv specifically. As the days and weeks went by, the situation was escalating and there was a chance that Yoni would be called to the army. He would literally just have to drop everything and go to the front lines any day, any time, during a period where his newly opened business was thriving. I remember one day he asked me to hold his cell phone while he taught a class, I asked why? He replied something like the army may call and I will need to take it. I was like "What?! you want me to hold the phone incase the Israeli army calls, while you go teach a workout class?! What... like aren't you scared?!" No fear at all. He actually described the situation as a "pain in the ass". Wow. Okay.

Fear is subjective, complex and beyond me. Some people live with anger, some with shame and some with fear. I recently realized that out of those three, I am more fear based and I didn't even know it. If you feel like it, try asking yourself, what shows up more often in your life? Where do you think you fall within the 3 categories of fear, anger, or shame.

Today, someone who inspires me suggested I watch this video. I love Will Smith and I love this video so I thought I would share! Watch until the end quote (especially if you're like me and can associate with being fear-based.)

Enjoy <3
